Five laws
Software should be built around the business. Not the other way round. If you're reorganising your company to suit a product, the product has failed.
Business software is allowed to have a pulse. Grey portals are a choice. Somebody chose them, on purpose, for thirty years. We choose differently.
Prove it in weeks, not someday. Two-year rollouts are how beige protects itself. Live and useful early, or it doesn't count.
No business should run on one heroic human. If everything depends on Dave, that's not a system. That's a bloke. (We have a whole page about him.)
The point isn't speed. It's possibility. Faster beige is still beige. The win is doing what the old way never let you do at all.
